ORAL CONTRIBUTIONS

In an effort to ensure a smooth and speedy transition between speakers, we will utilize a common laptop in each session room. Personal laptops will not be allowed. There are two ways to provide your presentation on the common laptop.

  1. You may upload your presentation (pdf or ppt) at least 24-hours before your session using the link to the form received by email from the conference Chairs.
  2. You may bring your presentation on a USB memory stick to any session room during any of the breaks at least 24-hours before your presentation*. A dedicated volunteer in the room will assist in loading the talk.

*On Sunday only, there will be a dedicated slide center with a volunteer at Marconi building to upload your presentation. Please take advantage of this option especially if your talk is scheduled on Monday.

Regardless of the uploading method, 24-hours before your session your uploaded talk will be transferred and tested on the appropriate common laptop.

After the transfer, and in any event no later than 20 min before your session, please come to your session room to double check with our volunteers that your presentation is working correctly.

We understand that many of you may wish to use your own laptop. However, given the importance of staying on schedule and the potential for technical delays, we believe that the use of a common laptop will be greatly beneficial to all ICORS attendees. Please know that we will treat the uploaded presentations as confidential documents. All uploaded presentations will be discarded after ICORS and will not be shared with anyone. Thank you for your cooperation. In case everything fails with the upload please write to presentations@icors2024.org and we will provide help. Please make effort to follow the instructions and refrain from sending presentations as attachments to this email address.

A session chair will help keep everyone on schedule and moderate the Q/A session. As a general guideline, we suggest the following breakdown:

  • For a 15-minute slot (contributed talk): 12 mins presentation + 3 mins Q/A;
  • For a 20-minute slot (invited talk): 16 mins + 4 mins Q/A;
  • For a 30-minute slot (keynote talk): 25 mins + 5 mins Q/A;
  • For a 45-minute slot (plenary): 45 mins + 0 mins Q/A (there will be a break or pause after each plenary talk).

POSTER CONTRIBUTIONS

Posters are a key feature of ICORS. They will be displayed in the Chemistry Department, Cannizzaro Building (which also hosts two rooms for parallel sessions). Authors are kindly asked to be present at their posters, during the entire poster session assigned to them.

Set up and take down time. Participants scheduled to present their posters on Tuesday 30th (from 10:45 to 12:45) can set up their posters from Monday 29th afternoon, and must take them down by 15:00 on Tuesday. Those presenting on Thursday 1st (from 17:30 to 19:30) can set up their posters from Wednesday 30th afternoon and must remove them by 11:30 on Friday morning.

Each poster is assigned a specific location. Stands for posters will be marked with numbers which will be available also on the conference website. Please install your poster at the poster board marked with your poster number. Adhesive tape and push pins will be provided on-site. Organizing staff will help you upon request.

Guidelines for Creating Your Poster:

  • Use A0 format (in portrait orientation), which is 84.1 cm by 118.9 cm (33 by 47 inches).
  • You can print your poster on canvas or standard paper.
  • Include the title and author(s) at the top of your poster.
